- Our Programs -
Programs offered will change on Monday, March 29, 2021.
Worried about if your kids are getting enough social interaction while in virtual learning? We are here to help! Until schools reopen, our After School Program has been adapted to include full day/half day virtual learning assistance in addition to our traditional after school program. We are open Monday through Friday for kindergarten through fifth grade students. Campers can be dropped off at Camp Wieuca, and we will assist them with their virtual learning assignments while also providing fun, safe activities to do at the end of the school day.
Students will start each day with Virtual Learning according to their class schedule. After virtual learning has ended, groups will have a time for snack and a Bible story. Then groups will rotate through an indoor/outdoor activity schedule similar to our Summer Camp program for fun, safe social interactions until pick up. Any common spaces, walkways, toys, etc. will be thoroughly sanitized per CDC guidelines in between groups.
We still offer a traditional after school program for campers returning to in-person learning at the schools we serve. (Kindergarten through 5th Grade at Ashford Park, BIA, High Point, Montgomery, Sarah Smith Primary, and Sarah Smith Intermediate). We will transport campers from school to our campus, Monday - Friday with the exception of BIA who is dropped off by Empire Transportation. Campers must provided a Vehicle Emergency Form to Camp@wieuca.org. During transportation, campers will be required to wear masks and will have an assigned seat each day. Each vehicle will be thoroughly sanitized after campers are dropped off. Once arriving, campers will rotate through a group schedule that includes homework help, snack time (snack not provided), and a variety of indoor/outdoor activities modeled after our summer camp program.
We serve schools from multiple counties (Dekalb, Atlanta Public Schools, and Fulton), and we realize that every student's schedule is different. As our schools change schedules and slowly return to in-person classes, we will adapt as well. If your camper is in a hybrid phase of needed both after school and virtual learning assistance throughout the week just let us know. If you have any questions at all, just ask! Email us at Camp@wieuca.org or call our front desk at 404-467-4252.
What will my kids need?
Your camper's class schedule, password sheet, and any assignments need to be readily available in order for us to assist them. You can either print this information and keep it in the front of their homework folder or email it to Camp@wieuca.org so it does not get lost. If any materials need to be printed, please print beforehand and bring to camp. Each camper will need to provide his/her own pens, pencils, paper etc. Extras will be available at camp on an as needed basis and sanitized in between student use.
For Virtual Learning, each camper needs to bring his/her own digital device (laptop or iPad), headphones, and device chargers in order to access their school's class materials.
All campers need to bring a snack (peanut ingredient free) and a water bottle with them. Full Day campers will also need to bring their own lunch.
We ask that any toys, equipment, stuffed animals, trading cards, etc. are left at home.
