Our missional impact is felt throughout Atlanta. From our work with those who find themselves without decent shelter or food, to our work with those who are recovering from life-crippling addictions, we strive to make a difference in our city. Atlanta’s symbol is the phoenix-that mythic bird who consumes itself on a funeral pyre only to be reborn from the ashes. Like the phoenix, Atlanta was reborn out of the ashes of the Civil War to be the leading city in the South. Keeping this legacy alive, Wieuca strives to help individuals experience a similar “rebirth” from the ashes of injustice, substance abuse, oppression, and poverty.
