Finding Rhythm

Finding (and keeping) your Rhythm

Once you assess where you are on your journey, gather some basic supplies, and find some trekking partners, you’re ready to plunge back into the wilderness and face the contours of daily life in a new way. You need to find a spiritual rhythm that works for your unique personality and lifestyle. Naturally, some things in our lives need to be changed all-together, but our personalities and life situation must shape our rhythm--because God is not separate from daily life. God is present at all times and places.

--Don’t just learn survival skills; Learn skills for thriving. Find the spiritual disciplines that work best for your personality. You’ll need to keep refining your skills and acquiring tools for the journey.

--Seek out close companions. Perhaps your initial trekking partners were helpful for a season. Or perhaps you’ll stay with them for the long haul—either way, be sure to find some kind of nurturing community and accountability. Many people in our church find that through service groups, interest groups, choir, bible study groups, discussion groups, etc. Let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll do our best to match you up.

You may want to form a small group or accountability group. This could be yourself and a friend or a group of others who come together for a common purpose.

If you already know what kind of group you would like to start, click here.

Otherwise, you might consider forming a Renovare (latin for Renewal) Group.  You'll find easy steps for starting a group at that website, plus you'll have a chance to purchase the optional Spiritual Formation Workbook that can help you and your friend or  group get started on your journey together.
